Cala d'Or
The Balearic Islands is one of the most visited tourist areas in Spain. On the main island of Mallorca is situated a holiday resort Cala d'Or. Cala d’Or is divided into three areas: the town centre of Cala d'Or, Cala Egos and Cala Ferrera. On the one hand the resort can’t boast of long sunny beaches, but on the other it has a great number of small luxury sandy beaches as Cala Gran, Cala d'Or, Cala Egos, Cala Es Forti, Cala Serena and Cala Esmeralda.
In Cala d’Or tourists don’t have to go on foot through the resort; they can use a comfortable mini road train. The train connects different parts of the resort and its beaches. In August the town’s center is turned into the Fiesta de la Mare de Deu del Mar. Of course, it is not as popular as corrida in Cordoba, Venetian carnival, or Berlin film festival, but nevertheless has its own charm and unique atmosphere. In addition to this you can rent exclusive yachts and chartered boats to make a trip round Mallorca.
Cala d'Or is located just 75 minutes drive from capital Palma airport, but it had hardly ever experienced the traffic jams. From Cala d’Or you can easily get to a beautiful fishing port of Porto Petro after five minute journey by car or the mini train.
You can always rent a hotel room in Cala d’Or in one of the luxurious hotels as five-star Meliá Cala d'Or Boutique Hotel or other four-star and three-star hotels as Hotel Cala Dor, Gran Hotel D´Or Tucan, Sol Cala D´Or Apartamentos ect. Whatever hotel you will choose the level of service will be according to the best European standards. You can also book a cottage in Cala d’ Or on the outskirts of the town. Though it is located on the outskirts you can easily reach every part of the town due to its small size.
Cala d'Or is a treasure for lovers of quiet holiday. Here you can sunbathe on cozy hotel beaches, go to a beautiful remote beach Es Trenc or a fishing village. In addition local restaurants offer different dishes of both Spanish and international cuisine. At night the clubs from tiny Le Cueva to the buzzing Chic Palace entertain tourists.
